What’s in your products?
The majority of our products are made with natural ingredients – oils, butters, and essential oils – (exclusing some body butter fragrances and where otherwise noted) and therefore do respond well to all skin types. We use 100% skin-safe fragrances and create our butters and soaps in accordance with IFRA guidelines. While most of our products have been used by people with fairly sensistive skin as well as skin conditions as acne, keratosis polaris, eczema and dermatitis, everyone is different and therefore may experience different results.
Although we know certain types of essential oils, oil and butter combinations treat various conditions and help solve a lot of skin problems, we follow the FDA rules and do not promote any of our products as a “solution” or “medical treatment” for any such condition. We believe in honest advertising and do not intend to make any such claims although we’ve been told our products have cured many issues by our customers. We’re okay with that!
Please note that with products containing dead sea salt or epsom salt you may experience a temporary tingling sensation due to the fact that salt has exfoliating and purifying properties. If you experience any irritation that lasts for more than 10 minutes, discontinue use of product. If you wish to use our butter on your face as a moisturizer we recommend using 100% pure shea butter due to the fact that many have found fragrances to aggravate sensitive skin conditions on the face. Do not use fragranced body butters on open cracks, newly shaven or irritated skin. Be sure to treat these issues and resolve them before using our body butters on these areas. You know… basic common sense!
Do you do custom labels for retail customers? Can I put a family name or a friend’s name on the label instead?
Yes! A personalized gift is always a wonderful thing and shows you care. How thoughtful! We are always happy to put whatever you’d like for names on the label. We’ll give you a proof for your approval before sending out your order to make sure there weren’t any typos in your notes.
When will I get my order?
Processing is 1-3 days for all orders. Smaller orders often ship same-day if in stock.
Do you do custom scents or blends?
Yes! If you have a scent request, please let us know. We’re always expanding our selections, but if there’s something that you want but do not see, please let us know! Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your question.
FAQs for Wholesalers/Private Label customers:
What are your order minimums?
Our wholesale and private label pricing requires a low minimum purchase of 20 units per item. The minimum does not apply to already-prepared wholesale bundles or packages listed on our website in the online store. If you are just getting started with us, we recommend purchasing one of our packages.
Is it really possible to make money off of soap?
Absolutely! Everyone needs and wants soap. Most people care about what they use on their skin because they want to feel good – and smell good, too! Moisturized and glowing skin looks good on everyone. Because of this, soap is a business that will never, ever die.
Soap is a necessity, and this is why customers buy it. It’s not a “want” – it’s a need, and there’s no guilt associated with buying soap. This makes it an easy product to sell in your store, online, or in a studio.
Our handmade soaps retail for $6/bar. This is because our soap bars are a full 6 oz. – not your typical 4-5 oz. smaller bars. Ours are nice and thick and the perfect size to fit in your hands.
How much money do wholesale buyers make off your soap?
This depends on a couple of things. 1) How much soap you have in stock and 2) how much traffic you have (either foot traffic or online traffic). We’ve priced our products for wholesale buyers accordingly so you make a profit off of each and every item. Some retailers make $4000+ a month in profit whereas others with minimal traffic make a few $100. Many retailers appreciate the extra income our products provide them because it’s an effortless product!
Wholesale buyers make $3 per bar when buying in bulk. So if a customer comes in and buys 3 bars of soap – 1 for the house and 2 as gifts – that’s $9 in profit. It’s a good idea to mix up whipped soaps, body butters and handmade soaps for different price points.
I’ve never heard of whipped soap or haven’t used it. Why whipped?
Whipped soap is a newer trend and hot item. Whipped soaps are creamy (without being oily), wash clean, and make for great leg shaving and hand washing. A little bit goes a long way.
Sometimes people do not like the idea of using “shared” soap – soap bars that can accumulate hair or other weird objects that kids seem to push into it in the bath/shower area. Whipped soap is a product that is fluffy, can be portioned out with either fingertips or a spoon, and used. The whipped soap we make comes in a plastic, recyclable jar where you can keep it nice and clean, and stashed away from life’s “accidents” or “incidents”.
What products are available for wholesale?
All of the items listed on our site are available for wholesale purchasing. A minimum of 20 units per items is required for wholesale pricing. (Wholesale orders are batched, labeled with your logo and business if you wish for private labeling). We have handmade soap, body butters, whipped soap, whipped foot creams currently available, and our product line is expanding each month.
How long does it take to process a wholesale/private label order?
When buying in bulk, processing takes approximately 3-5 days for label art and packaging. We provide a proof image of your order for approval before shipping out.
What makes ordering from Strawberry Soapbox unique?
One of the benefits of ordering with us is having an in-house photographer! We take pictures of your items with a white backdrop and send them to you for your marketing purposes before you get your order. This helps our buyers make announcements that a new arrival is coming. It also helps decrease YOUR time in taking pictures and uploading them. No other wholesale soap company offers this level of service and follow-through!
What about shipping?
We ship all boxes via USPS Priority mail. This is the lowest-cost option for our products, and help keeps prices manageable. After your order has processed, a label tracking number is generated. This will be emailed to you when your order ships. Please note, your tracking number can take up to 24-48 hours to update in USPS’ tracking system. A “not found” or “pre-shipment” message may appear on their website – simply try later until your tracking number has had time to update in their system. Within 24 hours of receiving your tracking number, your package is picked up by USPS.
Holiday Processing & Delivery
Our high demand season is November 23 – February 14. This does not keep us from delaying your order. However, during these times, in the event that we need more time to process your order either due to a supply shortage or inventory, we will let you know immediately.
Orders may be cancelled at any time prior to a label being issued for your order. This means you have 24 hours to cancel or change your order. If you are not satisfied with your purchase you are entitled to a refund within 3 days of receiving your order minus shipping cost. Products must be returned in the same condition as upon initial receipt of delivery. Candles and custom orders, including private labeled items cannot be refunded unless it is due to our own error or damage. Please take careful measures to ensure any returned items are packaged securely to avoid damage during shipping. A photo of any damage incurred during shipment to you is required for refund and return. Used or damaged items on behalf of the buyer are not eligible for refunds.
We understand that many of our products are handmade and therefore may get damaged through the delivery process. However, we take great caution with our packing of our items and this is extraordinarily rare. Not to worry! If upon receiving your package, your item is irreversibly damaged, please send us a picture and email immediately upon receiving your package showing the damage and we will send out a replacement of the damaged item free of charge. We can only send out free replacements within 48 hours of your receiving your purchase so please let us know within that timeframe of any damage to your product that requires total replacement.
During summer months, body butters and creams are subject to melting during delivery under extreme heat conditions. As much as we wish we could control how long your order sits in a hot truck or on your doorstep in the blazing sun, we regrettably cannot. This is not always the case and only happens in rare instances, but as you can imagine, we cannot control the environment. (Imagine if we could!) Body butters that melt upon arrival cannot be replaced.
